The first one-day workshop of EUROAVIA Naples on 3D modeling which introduced its participants to the use of the Fusion 360 software in a simple, intuitive and dynamic way. Remaining faithful to the aerospace theme, we accompanied the participants in modeling the most famous spacecraft: SPACE SHUTTLE.
Event program
Phase 1:
Introduction to the event and theory lectures.
Maria Mattiello, Head of the IT Dept, introduced the event and software explaining the basics and its importance in the corporate world. The presentation was followed by the two main lectures.
Giuseppe Feniello e Pierluca De Felice, members of the IT Department, introduced the participants to the fundamental commands of the software . They showed how to overcome all the possible difficulties that they could encounter. Among the topic covered there are the Top-Down modelling that was used for the modelling of the wings and the Forms modeling used for the fuselage of the space Shuttle.
Phase 2:
In the afternoon, Andrea Detry, founder of the Lama Association, introduced the students to the world of additive manufacturing and presented the projects they are working on in university laboratories. After the presentation, the students were able to visit the laboratories with the guide of the professor Giuseppe Squillace.
The participants were later guided and supervised, by Maria Mattiello, Giuseppe Feniello, Pierluca De Felice and Leonardo Zolli, in the practical modelling of the spacecraft.
At the and of the day, the first who finished modelling the SPACE SHUTTLE was given the possibility to 3D print his model.
